A dried out Latchis Hotel and Theater will reopen
BRATTLEBORO, VT — Hurricane Irene can only keep the Latchis Theatre down so long. They’re stepping up repairing the water and electrical damage so it can reopen by November.

The Parkway’s last shot
OAKLAND, CA — Now closed for two and a half years, the Parkway Theatre is starting to look like it won’t reopen anytime soon. What started off as an aggressive campaign with enthusiastic supporters has slowed down as roadblocks with their landlord emerged.

Theater facade gets new look
CORNING, CA — The Rodgers Theater is getting a facelift thanks to a major fundraising effort. They’re in the process of renovating the entire space so it can serve as a community center and theater.

Priest Theater for sale
HIGH SPRINGS, FL — With the family who has owned it for 25 years putting it up for sale, the Priest Theater will be turning a page in its history. Hopefully, the new owner will continue to operate it as a movie theater and maintain the same level of family-friendly service.

AMC finalizes plans to move HQ
KANSAS CITY, MO — Despite the city’s overtures to keep them downtown, AMC is moving its headquarters to the Park Place Project. The move will help them increase their space by putting them in a 130,000 square-foot-space.

Curtain rising on Willows theater?
WILLOWS, CA — The road to re-opening the AHM-Opus Theatre has been a long one marked with many setbacks. However, despite it recently being on the market again, there has been a focused effort to re-open it by the end of next month.

Cinema Treasures hits 25,000 photographs!
It’s just been just over three months since we relaunched Cinema Treasures and we’re happy to report we now have over 25,000 photos of movie theaters. Great work, everyone!

Michigan Theater to again host Sundance screening in January
ANN ARBOR, MI — Long a supporter of the festival, the Michigan Theatre will yet again be part of Sundance Festival USA in January. As part of it, along with other theaters around the country, it will feature a screening as part of the festival along with a filmmaker being there.
