Bohm restoration almost complete
ALBION, MI — The Bohm Theatre could be returning earlier than expected with a possible November opening. The final touches are currently being made on a lovingly-crafted restoration that will respect the design of the gem but still bring it up to today’s standards.

Former Carteret vaudeville theater to be restored
CARTERET, NJ — Plans are coming together for the restoration announced three months ago of the Ritz Theater. The plan now is to also build a movie theater next door with a complementary mission. The hope is that everything will be ready by 2017.
UPDATE: Workers have already started to remove the drop ceiling in the Ritz, exposing the old ornate ceiling and the proscenium.

Granada Theatre making a comeback
PLAINVIEW, TX — Almost 85 years after its opening, the Granada Theatre is finally in the process of a return. A man with family ties to the theatre, Darryl Holland, is leading a restoration and is kicking off the comeback campaign with a slate of concerts over Labor Day weekend.

Masonic Temple Theatre to change hands
FORT SMITH, AR — The 1929 Masonic Temple has finally found a suitor as the production company Fiery Moon is negotiating to take it over and restore it. The plan to restore the theatre there as well which had been leased out recently.

Warner Grand fire curtain becomes new focus of restoration
SAN PEDRO, CA — A fire curtain original to the Warner Grand was showcased recently and featured as a cornerstone of the restoration project. While it still looks great, as it contains asbestos it needs to be sealed.

Next steps for the State
SIOUX FALLS, SD — It’s been a long road for the multi-year renovation of the State Theatre but the end is near. The lobby work has been completed and they’re focusing now on bringing the auditorium to a modern digital standard while still preserving its past.

Performing arts centers planned for former bakery building in Carteret
CARTERET, NJ — Almost 50 years as a clothing factory and bakery, the Ritz Theater will entertain more. Plans are in the works to restore the theatre and show live performances. No timeline is set but the plan is to have live performances.

Passionate fans fight to save the Zoe
PITTSFIELD, IL — They have gotten on the National Register last year but there is still plenty to be done at the Zoe Theatre. The Zoe Preservation Society hopes to reopen it as full time movie theater but it hasn’t shown a film in 20 years.
