The Bohm Theatre opened December 25, 1929. George Bohm’s earlier theatre of the same name had opened elsewhere in Albion, in 1915. The New Bohm Theatre had 1,100 seats and was located on S. Superior Street in downtown Albion.
The theatre has opened and closed a number of times over the decades. It was last operated by Albion College before closing once again in November 2008 when it was a three-screen movie theatre, with the balcony converted into two screens.
In September 2011 renovations began and it reopened as a single screen theatre again in October 2014. In 2016 a second screen name Bohm II with 38-seats was opened in an adjacent building.

The Bohm is open again; the URL is www.bohmcinemas.com and it’s showing three current movies as of 2/10/08.
The site is down and the phone number, 517-629-3000, is disconnected. If the theater was open in February, it apparently didn’t last long.
