WABASHA, MN — Thanks to some renovations, the new Broadway Theater is giving locals some cinema options.

Would you like to maybe see a good movie at a low price? In a theater that boasts surround sound, a HUGE screen, and that can play Blu-ray discs?

Well, have we got the answer for you!

How about next weekend trying out Wabasha’s new Broadway Theater!? Or, should we say, old Broadway Theater? Because the new Broadway Theater is really the old Wabasha High School Auditorium, located in what was Wabasha High School, then the middle school, and now is the Mittel Schule.

Alas this is doomed to fail. Showing DVD’s on a painted wall….give me a break!

Actually it sounds like something good for the community. Seeing a classic film WITH an audience is special. Sure we can all sit alone in our room and pop in a Blu-ray disc and watch it. But seeing it with other people gives the film a totally different feel.
I wish them lots of luck with the New Broadway!

If it’s true that they are paying the licensing fees to the studio to show the films, then they are only going to see a few dollars in this type of venue. Yes, seeing films projected does give a special feel to the movies other than on a TV set.

Do they have a web site?

WARNING!! The above URL address does not go to the theater’s website. It goes to some kid’s site called E-Baum’s World. Don’t go there if you have epilepsy because of a rapid flashing color display.
