Six of Dickinson’s 40 locations are firing up brand new RealD projectors on Friday.

Locations Include:

Palazzo 16 in Overland Park, KS
Westglen 18 in Shawnee, KS
Northglen 14 in Kansas City, MO
Springfield 8 in Springfield, MO
Starworld 20 in Tulsa, OK
West End Point 8 Theatre in Yukon, OK

Each theatre appears to have received one projector.

These are in addition to three other of the chain’s theaters that already have digital; Eastglen 16 in Lee’s Summit, Gateway 12 IMAX in Mesa, and the ALL digital Chenal 9 IMAX in Little Rock.

All digital screens will be presenting the “Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience.”

Any word on when the Northrock in Wichita, Kansas will be this type of installation?

No, but it’s possible. I figured out where these projectors came from though, Dickinson removed all of the digital projectors except for one at the Chenal 9 and installed 35MM projectors, and then distributed the digital ones throughout the chain.

Oh great! Just what the L.A. area needs – another multiplex. And in an area that has a bar on just about every corner and the highest DUI rate in the country they’re going to get them plastered in their movie theatre? How is that benefiting the public?

Hey King:

Sorry ‘bout that. I re-posted on the right page (just one ahead of this) but I don’t know how to delete this one.
