New Comment Policy

posted by Patrick Crowley on July 2, 2008 at 9:00 am

We’re rolling out a new comment policy today.

Because our community continues to grow by leaps and bounds, it’s now a good time to remind folks about the basic rules of posting comments here.

Many of these rules were actually created long ago. But, by posting our policy in public, we hope to cut down on any confusion about what is and is not acceptable.

Please take a moment to read the policy before making any additional comments. And, if you have a question about anything, please check out our frequently asked questions.

As always, with your help, Cinema Treasures will remain a great community!

Sincerely,
Patrick Crowley and Ross Melnick

Since the policy is rather long, can you summarize the changes here?

I’ve gotten a bunch of e-mail notices today.

Thanks, Lost. Good point. I’ve updated the policy to include that.

Yea, good to see these posted again, as even one theatre comment section being closed due to violations is too much.

Lost Memory attempts to ‘get in the last word’ each and every time, as said earlier and agreed apon, it would seem that there is one and one only instigator in the above threads, i proved the point

Do you see what i mean people. confrontational so that someone might respond, again point proven have a wonderful evening

TheaterOwner01 on July 5, 2008 at 6:18 pm

As anyone can tell we just made a point, and it does not matter how long what matters is that you are proving the point about what people are saying, your a instigator, and it might take someone ‘new’ to show you, taake it how it looks and sounds, but we know

Lost, what is sad is that it would seem no matter what is said, you do have to make fun of folks and keep the threads going, i have done a research just this past hour, it would seem from a NEWBIE that you have a lot to say, and most of it is not very nice towards others,, and it really does look like all you do is sit behind the computer and nag nag nag, and keep making comments that you know will make some one want to come back and say something to you, case in point' true colors' all it is is a simple chidesh way of getting attention, take care, i wont respond anymore because i believe i have made my point and anyone reading these ‘threads’ can see it as shown above, have a good night

PROVOCATIVE comments can initiate a discussion that, when positive, can stimulate and inform. I see nothing wrong with provocative comments nor the decision of others to stay anonymous by choosing nicknames or singular first names on this site. It is their right.

PROVACATIVE is a woman’s fragrance by Elizabeth Arden and therefore quite off-topic.

For anyone making bad remarks about anyone on this Movie Theatre board they need to be locked up and tied up for 5 days in the old Loews Kings Theatre in NY. Let them feel and breath the mold till they mellow out. Give them a box of old popcorn to eat found under one of the broken seats with pigeons to keep them company! I think they will be nicer when they come out and see the light! Don’t bring your camera or flashlight you will be busy fighting off the rats coming from the stage.

It is when most of the comments besides theaters are about others i do agree with Warren

It was very easy to do a search on Lost, it does not take a rocket scientist to do that, as far new, again sometimes new people see just as much or more then older ones, and i again agree more content but not in the form of theater comments, Warren was right on target,

Still no comment from the English professor on CiNdi’s stream of consciousness post. Hmm.

He must be away in his CHALET.

Time to wrap it up people.

This is exactly the sort of bickering and endless nonsense that has required us to restate our comments policy. We value all of your contributions, but if this chiding and nastiness continues everyone involved will have their account suspended.

Seriously. It’s just not that funny anymore.

TheaterOwner01
TheaterOwner01 on July 8, 2008 at 6:25 pm

If by chance you remove people, it should also be LOST regardless of the contributions, as he also contributes to the EXACT thing your taking about, endless nonsense

Having read the new Comments Policy, it sounds like a sound one, with hard and fast rules. That’s the best way to go, imo.
