The 1,950-seat Oxford Theatre opened in 1927 on Jerome Avenue near 182nd Street. By 1929 it was operated by the Consolidated Amusement Company chain. The theatre closed in 1951 and was converted into office space. Today, the building houses a public school.

The Oxford Theatre was built for the Consolidated Theatres chain and designed by architect Israel Crausman. It opened in September 1927 and closed in September 1951. The seats were arranged in a stadium style (with no overhanging balcony). After closing the building was gutted for office space.
The Oxford Theatre is currently used as a school; PS 315. The address on the building is 2246 Jerome Ave, Bronx, NY.
During the very early 1970’s, the building was used for housing the computer classes and business courses of Bronx Community College.
