One of the first theatres in the world to have stadium seating?
One more photograph I took of the Oxford Theatre’s auditorium block, looking South from the Elevated platform of the 183rd Street Metro Station:

During the very early 1970’s, the building was used for housing the computer classes and business courses of Bronx Community College.
The Oxford Theatre is currently used as a school; PS 315. The address on the building is 2246 Jerome Ave, Bronx, NY.
The Oxford Theatre was built for the Consolidated Theatres chain and designed by architect Israel Crausman. It opened in September 1927 and closed in September 1951. The seats were arranged in a stadium style (with no overhanging balcony). After closing the building was gutted for office space.
