Metro Theatre

The Metro Theatre was located on Webster Avenue, between Ford Street and E. 183rd Street.

Built in 1926, the theatre seated 1,450, and in the late-1940’s and early-1950’s was operated by the Cinema Circuit Corp. chain. It was razed in 1968.

The Metro Theatre was built for the Consolidated Theatres chain and the architect was Israel Crausman. It opened on 20th October 1927 and closed in May 1952. Seating was arranged in a stadium style (with no overhanging balcony)
