The Lyric Theatre operated as early as 1931. It was operated by Gasconade Theaters who also operated theatres in Belle, Cuba, and Rolla, and housed a total of 306 seats. Because of the then-new Rowe Theatre opening nearby, the Lyric Theatre closed for the final time on June 21, 1949, one week before the opening of the nearby Rowe Theatre.
