The Cruden Hall was built in 1888 and operated as a Public Hall. Around 1918, the upstairs room was converted into the 300-seat Electric Theatre. In 1930 it was closed having lost its Cinematograph Licence due to inability to modernise.

It is not know what use it had in later years, but by the early-2020’s it was operating as a banquet hall, named Cruden Hall. It has been refurbished and still contains some of the decorative details dating from its original opening.
