Stardust Drive-In

Located in Sharon to the north of Newmarket, ON. The North York Drive-In opened on July 14, 1955 with Burt Lancaster in “The Crimson Pirate” & John Lund in “Five Guns West”. It was owned by the same family for over 50 years. It now has three screens. There has been talk of a fourth screen and hopefully this will become a reality.

The new snack concession building is located behind the old smaller snack bar which is now used for storage. The bigger screen 1 located by the highway is the original screen tower. It was closed in 2012. It 2013 it was reopened by Premiere Theatres as the Stardust Drive-In.

This drive-in closed in 2012 as they lacked the funds to upgrade to digital projection.

The drive-in was bought by Premier Theatres in 2013 and reopened with the new name Stardust Drive-In Newmarket. Here’s the new web site.
