The TOHO Cinemas Lalaport Yokohama located on the 3rd floor of the Lalaport Yokohama opened its doors on March 15, 2007 with 13 screens and a total capacity of 2,366 seats and 26 wheelchairs (with two in each auditorium), making it the largest operating movie theater in the Kanagawa Prefecture. Shortly after its opening, the TOHO Lalaport became one of the venues for the 2007 French Film Festival as well as the local Lala Yokohama Film Festival that same year.

All of its seats are equipped with 60cm (23.6in) wide super high-back seats, which are large seats that wrap around the head of the moviegoer, and was the first in the Kanagawa Prefecture to do so. Screen 3 originally started life as a normal theater until it was converted into a IMAX in December 2016. Screen 3 is also the largest with 371 seats, while Screen 1 being the largest normal auditorium with 309 seats, Screen 10 being the smallest with 105 seats, with the rest of the screens have ranging capacities of 113-242. Screen 13 originally opened as a premiere theater but was recently converted into a normal auditorium. With the exception of Screen 3, all of its auditoriums have Dolby 5.1ch sound, while Screen 3 in the other hand has IMAX 12.1ch sound.

A little funny accident happened on August 6, 2022, when a showing of the Japanese film “One Piece Film Red” inside the IMAX Screen 3 where the scene of Usopp rolling around was repeatedly played in a continuously loop for minutes.
