Cinema 3

In Pukekohe, a town at the southern edge of the Auckland Region, Cinema 3 opened on 26 December 2011. (A brass plaque on the foyer wall records that the official opening, performed by the founder of New Zealand props and special effects company Weta Workshop, Sir Richard Taylor, and Lady Tania Taylor, did not take place until 4th March 2012.)

Cinema 3 hit the headlines in July 2024 when two women, with children, were ejected after bringing in a large quantity of outside-bought food and drink to a screening of the animated sequel “Despicable Me 4”.

Cinema 3 is owned and operated by Pukekohe Cinemas Ltd. Seating capacities are: Screen 1:162, Screen 2:120 and Screen 3:63.
