Located in the far south of Auckland district of Papakura at the corner of Averill Street and Broadway. The Windsor Theatre was opened by 1950 with it was operated by the Modern Theatres chain. It was still open in 1960. It last operated as the Star Theatre, operated by A.E.Berry & C.W. Wilson. It was closed in 1972 and the auditorium was gutted to allow for earthquake modifications. It reopened as the Cine-Centa in 1973 and was taken over by Kerridge-Odeon in 1984. It was closed in 1986.
The building was converted into mixed residential & retail use. It still stands in 2026, having recently been occupied by The Model Room which retailed model aiplanes, cars, trains etc.

The original two floor Star Theatre Papakura closed 1972 as it required earthquake strengthening. The auditorium was gutted and the roof-line lowered to create a modern single floor auditorium featured wall-to-wall carpet, unique individual seating & floor to-ceiling orange drapes similar in appearance to its modern counterpart at Manurewa. Opened as the Cine-centa in 1973 but when the Ray Melrose controlled Cine-centa group were placed in receivership it was sold to exhibitor Ralph Carter in 1978 and finally acquired by Kerridge Odeon in 1984. Closed permanently 1986. Redeveloped into mixed retail & residential use.
