Popular Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1914 Sanborn, in a simple two-story wooden storefront. The building appears to be a modification of a pool room that appears on the 1906 map. A one story addition was made to the rear, and a balcony or something similar was added to the front.

Truly a multifunctional building, the pool room relocated to the basement, the theatre occupied the first, and a school room was located above.

This theatre operated until about 1920-21, when it was replaced by a far superior iteration of the Popular name. That building has likewise been demolished, and the site is a parking lot.
