Boxoffice, Jan. 8, 1949: “Russell Allen is building a 550-seat, $100,000 theatre in Farmington, N. M., where he already owns another. The new theatre will be given an Indian name, Totah, and is scheduled to open in the spring.”

From the smattering of events listed on the calendar at the theater’s web site, it looks like the Totah is now actually open, if only for a few days each month.

The site also gives the current seating capacity as 300.

In 1963, Helen Allen was president of Allen Theaters. Larry Allen was vice president. Allen theaters in Farmington at the time were the Allen, Apache Twin Drive-In, Totah and Valley Drive-In.
