Lyric Airdome

This airdome was operated by Ira Berman, who also ran an indoor Lyric Theatre just around the corner(it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). That theatre opened in 1907, and this may have been contemporaneous. The location was a vacant lot in 1905.

The Airdome was fairly large, and fairly basic, with a small ticket booth, a fenced lot, and a tin-clad stage. It was definitely operating by 1912, when it appears on the maps.

Demolished long ago, by no later than 1925 it had been replaced by a garage, which later became a cheese factory before itself being demolished. The location today is a vacant lot with the cracked foundation of the garage.
