Gulf State Theatres opened the Battlefield Twin Cinema inside Battlefield Mall on June 30, 1972 with Marlon Brando’s “The Godfather” at Screen 1 and Walt Disney’s “Bedknobs And Broomsticks” at Screen 2.
In May 1981, Screen 1 was divided and would eventually become a triplex. It was then known as Battlefield Cinema 3.
The Battlefield Cinema 3 closed in December 1985.

Also, it closed late in 1985.
So it probably closed in December 1985. I know its still in operation the previous month in November 1985 judging by a couple of articles.
