Opera House

The Clermont Opera House was constructed by a group of local businessmen who formed a company for the purpose. The building was completed in 1912. It was a large buff brick building with a small entry lobby on the front. There was a stage at the rear, and a small balcony.

Like all rural ‘opera houses’ this was used for all sorts of events and live acts, but movies were shown. It’s unknown when this ceased operation as a theater, but the building is in excellent shape, and is a community center owned by the town.
