Newcastle Community Cinema is a voluntary group established in 2009 to promote the appreciation of film, providing a varied programme to cater for a wide a diverse audience. NCC pride themselves on continually pushing the envelope in how film and cinema can play a vital role in a community, with multiple themed events, location-specific screenings and strong relationships with schools, businesses and other charitable and voluntary groups across the region. Films are screened in St, Mary’s Hall up to three times a week. Also hosts the annual Fool Moon Film Festival usually in November. In August 2022 the hall staged a selection of tribute acts and will host Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh in August 2023. The film screenings were previously shown in Annesley Hall on the Central Promenade.
