The Main Theatre opened August 10, 1926, with Coleen Moore in “Ella Cinders”. It was listed in Film Daily Year Book 1944 with 580 seats.
The Greenville Record Argus reported it closed in 1945 and was converted to a lumber company sales room and in 1949 a shoe store.
According to 1923 Sanborn Maps, it it existed today, it would have been the closest building to the alley, between Race Street and Canal Street.
