Star Theatre

This early theatre appears on the 1914 map in the eastern storefront of a large, two story, brick-fronted, concrete block commercial building that does not appear on the 1909 map. The Star Theatre was opened in 1914.

Although the space was fairly large, operating across the street from the Tilford/Liberty was probably a factor in the lack of success for this operation. It was closed in 1921. The 1927 map shows it as a store.

Although architecturally quite undistinguished, the building today is in decent shape, and the entire structure is occupied by an antique store.
