Located in the northeast of the city at the corner of Central Park and Niagara Street (since renamed Union Street). The Savoy Theatre was a remodel of an existing building to the plans of architect Leo J. Brazill in 1913, opening by 1914. It was operated by Marco Panzarella. Music was provided by a piano to accompany the silent movies. From March 5, 1917 plays were being performed and the theatre was operated by local vaudevillian, Dan Martin. It was closed in 1918.
Back under the ownership of Marco Panzarella, in 1918 a permit was issued to convert the theatre into a garage. In the 1920’s and into the 1930’s it was used as a settlement house catering to immigrant families, known as the Genesee Institute. By 1938 it was operating as an Italian-American club named Circolo Valledolmo.
The building was demolished sometime between 1971 and 1985.
