Opened as the Lyndhurst Theatre in late-1912, this house was renamed Lyndy Theatre around 1930 to 1932 when it became the World Theatre sometime. As did several other Rochester movie theaters, the Lyndhurst Theatre boasted a locally-made Kohl theater organ. The World Theatre operated at least into the 1950’s. Today the building houses a church.
