Rialto Theatre

Located in the West End inner-suburb south of Brisbane city centre, at the corner of Hardgrave Road and Skinner Street. The Rialto Picture Theatre was opened as a cinema on 11th October 1923. It was built for and operated by Garricks Entertainment Ltd. Over the years it also included live theatre in its programming. Its life as an entertainment venue ended in 1995 when a storm blew the roof off the building during a screening of “A Clockwork Orange” starring Malcolm McDowell.

It is now in use as a Vietnamese restaurant. The building is Heritage Listed.
