Located in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. The Playhouse Cinema was opened in early-March 1939. The facade of the building was covered in cream glazed tiles. Seating was provided for 774-seats in the stalls and 261-seats in the circle. It had a 27ft wide proscenium and the stage was 10ft deep. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. It was operated by Fraserburgh Picture House Ltd, a subsidiary of Caledonian Associated Cinemas Ltd.

The Playhouse Cinema was still open in 1969, but had closed by 1980 and has been demolished. A block of flats with car parking space has been built on the site.
