The Airdome appears on the 1913 Sanborn, on the SW corner of 5th Street and Washington Street. It replaced two wooden storefronts previously on the lot.
The stage and screen were on the north side, and the projection booth was in a small hut on top of a buggy shed at the south end of the lot. It was initially operated by Mr B.F. Shafer, who opened it on June 3, 1911.
Shafer moved to the K of P Building in 1914 to open the 230-seat Lyric Theatre (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Airdome was operated in the 1915 and 1916 season by Leslie Barr. It appears to have closed before the 1917 season.
The Airdome was demolished and replaced by a small gas station by 1926. The corner is currently occupied by a newer (1940?) gas station which has been incorporated into a neighboring hardware store. The address is a guess, since there are no addresses on the map.

Hexter and B.F. Shafer opened the Airdome on June 3, 1911 with artwork by Grant Rose, an electric piano, and a capacity crowd. The venue was used in place of the ventilation-challenged Rose Opera House for summer programming. In 1915 and 1916, it was Leslie J. Barr who opened the Airdome with movies as the Lyric Theatre was closed for the summer months. It does not appear to have returned in 1917.
