Located in Natrona Heights on Freeport Road to the west of Freeport, PA. The Sunset Drive-In was opened on May 22, 1952 with John Barrymore Jr. in “High Lonesome”. It was operated by the Hilltop Amusement Co., Ray Woodward of the Kayton Theatre, Franklin. The Sunset View Drive-In was still open in 1989 when it was showing adult X-rated movies. Current location is now a #1 Cochran car dealership.

Just saw an old copy of the Pittsburgh Press, and the theater was still open (still showing x-rated movies, after the Dependable had switched to family fare) in June 1989.
Grand opening was on May 22, 1952 with “High Lonesome” starring John Barrymore Jr. I just uploaded the ad
