There’s nothing but an empty lot where it once stood in the corner of the Festival Center. I don’t know if there are any plans for that area or not, but nothing seems to have happened there in years.
I spent many an afternoon catching $1 movies in my freshman year at South Alabama, 89-90! Last time I remember seeing anything there was The Fifth Element in ‘97; I don’t know how much longer it stayed open.
Search these coordinates to get an idea of where it was:

The final movies screened there were chicken run and Thomas and the Magic railroad
@tomrog, It is weird how the Festival Center just became this ghost area now where nothing survives haha. I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, and that strip mall was one of the most popular places in Mobile. The Dollar Movies, as we called this place, was always busy, and I remember seeing Home Alone, Cool World, Jurassic Park, and so many other movies there. Hard to believe this place only lasted 12 years.
