The Village Theatre opened with 3 screens on January 26, 1972. It was opened by Giddens & Rester Theatres. It was expanded to 4 screens in 1977 and then to 6 screens in 1982. Litchfield Theatres took over operations in 1984 followed by United Artists in 1987 and finally Carmike Cinemas in 1990. Carmike Cinemas closed the Village 6 Theatres in 1997. It became a church and had been demolished by 2016.

This theater is not only closed, but the entire building and adjoining shopping center were demolished.
Went to USA in the early 90s. I saw Pulp Fiction there in 94.
By the way, the picture I uploaded was from 1998 when the theater had already closed and was being renovated. It would then become a church.
