Flix Brewhouse Albuquerque Tramway

Built in 1989 by the landlord for Rand Theatres of Little Rock, AR. Due to financial difficulties, they never operated it. It was opened as an independent theatre High Ridge 8 on April 13, 1990 with 1,833-seats. In the late-1990’s and early-2000’s, they played independent movies and with family movies and blockbusters. The Hinkle Family Fun Center opened next to the theatre and they decided to screen some family films to cater for the kids after playing at Hinkle. In 2013 they stopped playing family films due to a lack of audience and it went back to screening independent movies and sometimes blockbusters. It was closed by Regal Entertainment Group on January 5, 2023.

It was taken over by Flix Brewhouse and had a proposed reopening in 2024, which was reset to early-May 2025.

Nevermind, the theater’s instagram account announced that this theater’s last day will be on January 5th due to Advertise Marketing Conditions.

Yeah, I don’t know what they mean by that.

The last movies they’ll be playing on this theater’s last day are Babylon (2022), Corsage (Actually the showing is a Thursday Preview showing since it’ll be playing in more theaters this weekend), Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Avatar: The Way of Water (2D & 3D), Violent Night, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and The Fabelmans.

I’m going out on a limb to say that if UA had the grand opening of this theater, then Commonwealth never operated it.

Flix Brewhouse just brought this building and expanded to have its grand opening around early 2024. The theater’s name is not confirmed yet.

It’s been on track since the announcement back in 2023. The construction just took longer than expected because I seen workers working over there for the past year

Flix Brewhouse is going to open this theater on the first week of May 2025. They’re calling it Flix Brewhouse Albuquerque Tramway and it will have 7 screens inside of 8 from what Regal use to have.
