Bel Enterprises' Skinni-Mini Theatre opened April 1, 1972 with Walt Disney’s “Song of the South” starring Ruth Warwick. It was the first mini-cinema in Lancaster County and continued until being offered for sale for $77,000 including both building and equipment in 1980. Purchased, it became the Point of View Theatre in August 1980. The theatre was a favorite of Millersville University students and neighboring residents in easy walking distance. No car needed.

The theatre would play mainly art and foreign films. The quirky independent theatre also became a haven to see Oscar-nominated films that the nearby Lancaster multiplexes wouldn’t screen. The theatre survived the onslaught of home video, multiplexes and even megaplexes in an amazing run that ended just after its 50th anniversary in 2013. In 2019, the mini-cinema was being transformed into a micro-brewery and music venue called Phantom Power.
