Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse

Zoetropolis has been operating a small art-house theatre in Lancaster PA on-again off-again since 2000. In July 2000 they opened their Lemon Street location (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures), which closed in 2003. They re-opened on Friday April 5, 2013 at 315 W. James Street.

In March of 2019, Zoetropolis moved to their current location at 112 N. Water Street. When opened, the Water Street location operated as a theatre, a restaurant, and a distillery. On August 2, 2026 Zoetropolis closed the restaurant business with plans to move the distillery to another location.

The theatre, in addition to showing films it hosts concerts, poetry readings, and community events. The theatre consists of a mix of leather theatre seats and heterogeneous mix of couches and armchairs. The number of seats fluctuates because of this, but often contains approximately 50 seats. The theatre is equipped with a laser digital projector and occasionally exhibits films on 16mm.
