The Family Park-In Theatre was opened on May 6, 1948 with The Andres Sisters in “Swing-time Johnny”. Initially the screen was 20ft wide, and a larger screen was on order. On August 21, 1948 Boxoffice reported, “Owner Burgess Crandall has installed new screen and projection equipment at the Family Park-In Theatre near Rupert.”

The 1949-50 Theatre Catalog included Rupert’s Family Dr., Owner Burgess Crandall, capacity 100. The Family Park-In Theatre was not included in the 1952 edition.
