The only remaining movie theater in Collinsville, which once had a number of theaters, including the Orpheum, the Will Rogers and the Miner (which today is used for live productions), the Petite 4 opened in 1973. It was operated by the Carmike Cinemas chain. The theater closed February 19th, 2004. Kerasotes planned to build a 10 to 12 screen in Collinsville later in 2004, set to open in 2005.
On March 20, 2004, a blaze completely gutted the vacant Petite 4.

That’s actually a rather cool looking building! Shame it burned down…
I’m willing to bet all that ugly vinyl siding in the 2002 picture was not part of the original design.
As you can see from my recent photo the Petite 4 has not been demolished but has been recycled into a church.
