The Colony 2 Theatre was opened April 19, 1991 with 3-screens, operating as a straight adult movie theatre. Not to be confused with another adult movie theatre, the Waverly/Fourtieth Street/Colony Theatre located on N. 40th Street which latterly screened gay adult movies and has its own page on Cinema Treasures. The Colony II Theatre was reported as being closed around 2009.
However by January 2010, it was reopened with 4-screens as the Colony Theatre & Cocktails and again showing adult movies. One of the screens was for couples only. The cinema opened Wednesday 10am-6pm, Thursday 10am-12am. There was also a cocktail lounge which opened at 8pm. On Friday’s and Saturdays, the cinema operated from 10am-2am. If you payed to get in the lounge, the couples theatre and lounge were open until 3am. It was closed in May 2016 upon the death of the owner. It sits abandoned in 2022.

Hello all,
I am doing a large-scale research project on adult theatres and would be very interested to hear from anything who either worked at or attended this theatre during its time showing adult films. If you would like to help me out, you can email me at .
Thanks!
This opened on April 19th, 1991 with three screens. Grand opening ad in photo screens. According to 2014 reviews, it is now open Friday and Saturday nights.
Doc here from The Journal of Adult Theaters blog. The Colony II is now closed as of May 2016, and prospects of a re-opening are slim. The business was sold when the long time owner, Ed Komorek, passed away and in turn was sold by his heirs. From what I understand licenses were not obtained by the new owners and the business (which was to be re-named “Kisses”) was shuttered by the city.
Abandoned as of 2022.
