the Unique theatre and the Gaiety theatre were combined into one larger theatre called Gaiety on November 23rd, 1917. It had a fire and reopened on September 18th, 1939 and closed as the last downtown theatre on March 31st, 1981. Grand opening ad posted.
1969 photo of concession counter & Mrs. Boone added, credit (PANB), via Jim Murray. Which means it was open at least until then.
This photo of Queen Street dated 1962 shows the entrance of the Gaiety at left.
