The Chantel Theatre in Sandy was located on 9400 South, just east of 700 East. The theatre was opened on June 22, 1973 with Topol in “Fiddler on the Roof”. It was only a few years old when it was purchased in 1979 by Albertsons Supermarkets and demolished to make room for a parking lot.
