Nearby Theaters
Located on Orange Highway (now Dryden Road) in the Groves section to the north of Port Arthur, TX. The Tex Drive-In was opened in October 1953. In January 1955 it was renamed Capri Drive-In and was operated by W.F.W. Theatres Inc. and Weisenberg Theatres. It closed in the mid-1960’s.

Billboard, Jan. 8, 1955: “The Tex Drive-In Theater, Port Arthur, Tex., has been sold by Tex Drive-In Theater Company, to the Capri Theaters, Inc., of Dallas, and its name will be changed to Capri Drive-In, according to Charles W. Weisenburg, president.”
Billboard, Oct. 24, 1953: “The new Tex Drive-In with capacity of 500 cars has been opened at Port Arthur, Tex. It was built by Howard L. Arthur, Robert M. Rogers and Jack W. Wooldert Jr. Arthur will be manager.”
