Skyline Drive-In

Located in the outer west of Sydney district of Wakeley. The El Rancho Drive-In opened on March 21, 1957, and closed as the Skyline Drive-In in 1984. The drive-in has been demolished(date unknown?). The site is now the Mary MacKillop Catholic College.

Located just south of the south east corner of Smithfield Road and Dunstan Street, Wakeley(formaly called Fairfield West). The site is now Mary Mckilop College(named after Australia’s first Saint!).

Might’ve originally been called the El Rancho with a western theme? Staff were apparently dressed as cowboys and cowgirls and they had a “chuck wagon” to deliver meals to patrons.

Can’t remember the Chuck Wagon deliveries but it still had a (vague) western theme in the early 80’s with wagon wheels etc scattered around the site. Clearly remember seeing “Tron” there and “The Odd Angry Shot”.
