Regent Theatre 536 Main Street, Melbourne, VIC - 1938 – Previously

Located in the south Melbourne district of Mordialloc. The Paramount Theatre was opened in 1923. It was rebuilt in around 1930 to accomodate and celebrate the advent of talking pictures. Following another rebuild in 1938 in an Art Deco style, it was re-named Regent Theatre by the then operator Fowler & Carr Theatres Property Ltd. From 1936, it was custom to switch the programme between the New Mentone Theatre, also owned by Fowler & Carr and the Mordialloc Regent Theatre. The Regent Theatre was closed in 1964.

It has since been demolished and a retail outlet has been built on the site.
