Unity Theatre

Located in the south-east Melbourne beach community of Edithvale. The Unity Theatre opened in 1940. It closed in 1964, with the seating capacity reduced to 275..

Converted into a picture framing gallery, it then became a St. Vincent de Paul charity shop, and in 2010 operated as Vinnies charity shop, which closed in the mid-2010’s.

Vinnies left the building a few years ago, its now vacant again and up for rent. Here’s a listing with some inside shots, sadly it appears that the whole interior has been redesigned with little signs of the former theatre left:
