The Centre Theatre in Grand Blanc opened prior to 1914. In 1946 and seated 638 people. It was owned by the Weishuhn family who lived next door to the development which included a bowling alley, dairy bar and gas station.
The theatre had a dual sound system, cry room, a large stage and parking for 500 cars. The Centre Theatre closed in 1965 and the Weishuhns converted it into a recreation center which was first called Colo Cue, then Invaders Arcade and is now the All-Star Sports Center.
When Mr. Weishuhn died in the mid-1980’s, the estate auction included items stored in the Weishuhn family bar including the original doors from the theatre and the marquee. The marquee was fabricated by a sign company in Kalamazoo. Marquee letters served as paperweights for some of the items for for bidding.

Theatre name spelling should be changed from Center to Centre. Buildings in the 1961 photo I just added also matched the current Google Street View that previously served as the overview image.
