Opened on July 25, 1950 as the Sky-Hi Drive-In, the first movie shown was Mark Stevens in “Oh, You Beautiful Doll”. The next season beginning May 1951, the drive-in was renamed the Corral Drive-In. The theatre was located near the Quad City Airport.
In July 1970 it was taken over by Redstone Drive-In Theatres. By the 1970’s, the Corral Drive-In was screening mostly B-grade films, and by the early-1980’s, adult features. The Corral Drive-In closed on September 4, 1982 with a Clint Eastwood triple-bill program “Firefox”, “Any Which Way You Can” & “Every Which Way but Loose”. It has since been torn down, and the site is reverting back to wilderness.
