In Stockingford (today a suburb of Nuneaton, Warwickshire), the New Picture Palace opened in the early-1920’s. Seating was in stalls and circle. The projection room (equipped with Kalee 6 projectors) was on the ground floor, with the portholes under the circle. The proscenium was only 16ft wide, resulting in a very small screen. In about 1942 the cinema changed its name to the Palace Cinema and the seating capacity was given as 500. Since closure in 1959 the building has been used as a warehouse and, more recently, as offices.
