This opened as Carmike 7 on September 30th, 1988 by Carmike Cinemas and expanded to 10 screens in 2006. It was taken over by AMC Theatres in 2016 and renamed AMC Rapid City early in 2017. The opening of this cinema forced the Northgate and Rushmore cinemas to close down. I have uploaded the grand opening ad in the photo section.
Opened on different screens with “Crocodile Dundee 2”, “Who framed Roger Rabbit”, “Big”, “Die hard”, Cocktail", “Coming to America”, and “Bambi(re-release?)”.
