This theater stopped showing movies way before the 70’s. It was subsequently a drug store until abandonment and demolition.

The Southern Theatre has been demolished. Here are a couple of my pictures of the Southern (from 2007 and 2010):

As noted in the local papers, this structure has been sold by the city of Oak Park and will be demolished for parking.
