The 5-screen Cineplex in the Kennedy Centre closed in spring 2010 when the shopping centre underwent a major refurbishment which saw it double in size.(It has its own page on Cinema Treasures),
The replacement cinema, now an 8-screen Omniplex, with high backed, luxury stadium seating throughout, opened on 15th July 2010.

As of 2016, The largest screen is Screen 1 with 190+ seats available. The smallest are screens 6,7 and 8, each with around 75 or so. The cinema opens in the early-to-mid afternoon on weekdays, and late in the morning on weekends.
The Omniplex Cinema at the Kennedy Centre in Belfast originally opened on 15th July 2010. It marked the addition of a modern, multi-screen cinema to the Kennedy Centre, offering 8 screens for moviegoers in West Belfast.
It features Barco digital projection technology. Barco is known for delivering high-quality, sharp visuals, enhancing the movie-watching experience. Many Omniplex cinemas, including the one at Kennedy Centre, use this advanced projection system to provide clear and immersive screenings.
In November, 2019, Screen 6 at the Omniplex Cinema in the Kennedy Centre underwent a major refurbishment. As part of Omniplex’s wider efforts to upgrade their cinemas, the refurbishment likely included improvements to seating, sound, and projection systems, with a focus on enhancing comfort and the overall viewing experience. Many Omniplex locations introduced luxury seating and other modern amenities around this time, and Screen 6 was part of these upgrades before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, The Seating capacities of Screen6 went down from 73 seats to 66 seats.
