Hub Theater, 1936

The Hub Theatre opened around 1913, in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago, on W. Chicago Avenue near N. Hermitage Avenue.

Its was designed by David Saul Klafter, an architect more known in Chicago for his residental architecture.

The Hub Theatre closed as a movie house in June 1994, and the building was converted into office space. In February 2016 it was converted into a Botanical Brewpub.

I actually went here at times from 1989-94. Wasn’t bad at first, But seemingly things went progressively downhill. And in it’s last year?, Need I say more?. But I do miss this theatre being around, And wished that it were maintained more professionally.

Reopened as a second-run house in 1989 before closing in June 1994.
